Matt Miller has been an integral part of Carey Park Golf Course since his appointment in April 2002. With over two decades of unwavering commitment to our course, Matt embodies the spirit of excellence and expertise.
As a proud member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), Matt’s passion for golf course management and maintenance is unparalleled. He has served as President several terms and has been a board member of the GCSAA for many years. His extensive experience and dedication have played a pivotal role in shaping the impeccable standards that define Carey Park Golf Course.
Matt Miller is a testament to an enduring love for the game of golf and unwavering dedication to ensure that every visit to our course is a memorable one.

Colton Berk has made a significant impact since joining the Carey Park Golf Course team as our Assistant Professional in 2020. In the Fall of 2023 Colton took over the duties as Interim Clubhouse Manager and in February of 2024 accepted the permanent position. With a decade of experience in the golf industry, including his role as a TaylorMade Fitting and Sales Representative, Colton’s knowledge and expertise are undeniable. Notably, he earned recognition as a Golf Digest Top 100 Fitter in 2017 and Mizuno Golf Top 100 Fitter in Wichita during 2018. In 2025, Colton was awarded the Midwest PGA (Flint Hills Chapter) Assistant Golf Professional of the Year Award.
Colton’s journey led him through Wichita State University, where he majored in Marketing and Communications. Currently, he’s on a path through the PGA program to fulfill his aspirations of being elected to full PGA Membership. Colton’s passion for inspiring young golfers and growing the game shines through in his leadership of the course’s PGA Jr. League team. His enthusiasm for working with kids is evident and contagious, making him a valuable asset to our golfing community.

PGA Jr League & Junior Golf Coach
Jake Winchester has been a cornerstone of our staff for over seven years, with his family having deep roots into the Hutchinson golf community. With accolades such as for the Hutchinson City Junior Championship in 2019, he was able to earn a scholarship after graduating from Hutchinson High School to Coffeyville Community College, concluding his collegiate career at Hutchinson Community College as a Blue Dragon.
In April 2024, Jake assumed the Assistant Professional position. Over the past 5 years, he has dedicated himself to our junior program, showcasing his skills as a committed junior instructor. Additionally, he serves as the Assistant Coach for our PGA Jr League program. We eagerly anticipate his growth in this new role!
Grant Burr

Grant Burr has been an excellent addition to the Carey Park family since coming on staff in 2026. Grant brings a lot of knowledge and experience in the turf grass world.
After finishing his Associate of Science while attending Garden City Community College on a golf Scholarship, Grant enrolled at Kansas State for Turf School. While attending Kansas State he had many Turf Grass Internship opportunities, interning at The Golf Club of Southwind, Wichita Country Club, and the Stock Farm Club in Montana. Grant went on to graduate from Kansas State in 2021 with a Turf & Turf Grass Management Degree. After graduating, Grant had stints at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course and Prairie Dunes Country Club.
Currently, he’s on a path through the GCSAA program to fulfill his aspirations of being elected to full GCSAA Membership in the Kansas Chapter. We look forward to many years of expertise Grant will provide shaping a new life at Carey Park Golf Course!
